Cheech is back with a brand-new fly pattern — introducing Cheech’s SUS, a dry fly version inspired by the legendary Higa’s SOS created by his longtime friend Spencer Higa. After more than 20 years of friendship and fly tying adventures, Cheech decided it was time for the SOS to get a dry fly upgrade.
The SUS (which, yes, also stands for “suspicious”) is a hackle stacker-style dry fly that’s versatile, buoyant, and deadly effective. It can be tied in a variety of colors and sizes, making it perfect for matching hatches or fooling selective trout that are acting a little… SUS.
