The Fat Albert really needs no introduction in the fly tying world as it's been a mainstream pattern for many many years. Developed by Brent Taylor in Missouri, it's designed to imitate almost any terrestrial bug that has a fat profile and a lot of legs. When we were in Argentina, the Fat Albert was one of the guide favorites, and we have found that its a phenomenal fly here in the States as well. Use it alone or as an indicator to help float a beefy tungsten nymph, this is a fly that looks way harder to tie than it really is, and it should have a healthy spot of real estate in your fly box.
