This fly almost wasn't a fly at all. Back in the day, I had a cool series of stoneflies that were similar in shape to this bug, and when I submitted this bug to the manufacturer I used to work with I got a big fat denial (It wasn't with Fulling Mill.) Anyhoo... I kind of forgot about the Steak Drake for about 10 years until I opened up this awesome C&F extended body tool, and I went nuts on them as soon as I saw what this tool could do. I've fished this pattern recently, and I have been really really happy with how it floats and how receptive the fish are to it. Just make sure not to skip the glue over the body if you want it to stay together. Check the video for all the rest of the tips for this bug!
