USGS gauge data is currently unavailable for the Klamath River; fish with caution and watch for rising water. A major rain event (1–2 inches) is forecast for Monday, which will likely push flows up and color the river — get on the water early Sunday while conditions hold.

Best Time Window
- Early Morning (6–9 AM) — BWO and Baetis activity in slower glides and flats; overcast skies ahead will extend this window
- Midday (10 AM–2 PM) — Golden stonefly nymphs most productive; PMD hatch beginning in late morning; work deep runs and pocket water
- Late Afternoon–Dusk (4–7 PM) — Prime caddis dry-fly window; fish riffles and tailouts as adults blanket the surface
Guide's Tip
From the benchGet on the water at first light Sunday — conditions are fishable now but a significant rain event (1–2 inches) arrives Monday and will likely blow out visibility and raise flows for a day or two. Focus your morning on BWO and Baetis nymph presentations in slower glides, then transition to stonefly nymphs deep in the runs through midday. By late afternoon, switch to a caddis dry in the riffles and tailouts as the evening hatch fires. If the river does color up after Monday's rain, downsize to the sculpin or crayfish jig and work the edges — big fish move shallow to feed in off-color water.
