Live gauge data is unavailable for today's report, but recent intel confirms flows around 11,500 CFS with excellent water clarity — prime conditions for both nymphing and dry-fly action. Afternoon highs pushing toward 97°F today and 100°F Monday mean fish will be most active early and late, so plan your day accordingly.

Best Time Window
- 6 AM - 10 AM: Pre-heat nymphing with Rubber Legs and Frenchie jigs in the deep main-channel seams before trout go deep.
- 12 PM - 4 PM: PMD hatch window — switch to split-case and emerger patterns in the slower flats and tailouts adjacent to faster water.
- 5 PM - 7:30 PM: Evening caddis and terrestrial action along shaded banks; dry flies shine as temperatures finally drop.
Guide's Tip
From the benchWith flows at 11,500 CFS and a brutal heat wave pushing afternoon temps to 97–100°F, your best trout fishing will happen before 10 AM and again after 5 PM when the light drops and fish move back onto the feed. During midday, focus your nymphing on the deepest, coldest slots — undercut banks, the head of deep pools, and any shaded water you can find. For the PMD and caddis hatches, position yourself upstream of rising fish and deliver a reach cast that gives you a full 5–7 feet of drag-free drift before any line tension develops. Stay hydrated, wear sun protection, and keep a thermometer handy — if water temps climb above 68°F, give the fish a rest.
