Twisted Mohair Leech
Cheech - December 2024

This pattern was actually tied on a whim when I was trying to demonstrate how to make a furled body. I fully intended to make the body of this fly out of something else, but it seemed too natural to just wrap the mohair forward. I tied a few up after that initial tie just to see how other colors would look on a hook. Somehow those flies ended up in a box that I took to Argentina, and long story short, they were really really really good. I think it fishes really well as a dragonfly nymph, a leech, and perhaps even a baitfish in the right colors. Anyway... this fly is too easy not to try in a bunch of different colors. Thanks for watching!
