Henry's Fork
An aquatic insect Hatch Timing report is posted on Henry’s Fork Foundation’s web site. How much ahead in time the hatches will occur depends on location on the river. Fishing between Ashton and Chester Dams is very good with BWO and March brown mayflies, caddisflies, and midges providing responses from trout throughout the water column. Streamer patterns are most effective during low-light periods. Flow below Ashton Dam is about 960 cfs and about the same at St. Anthony. Flow in this section has been almost constant for weeks. There are also plenty of wading and boating anglers present. If you want to enjoy trout responding to these hatches around Last Chance, consider checking on road conditions on Highway 20 north of Ashton.
