Henry's Fork
Flow through Box Canyon remains at around 800 cfs. Excepting the Harriman section, Catch and Release regulations remain for the rest of the river until the general season opening on Memorial Day weekend. Watch for flow variations in the upper river as we move into irrigation season. Unfortunately, we might be in for a summer of slow fishing in the Box Canyon-Pinehaven section.
For general conditions and expectations, you can refer to Dr. Rob Van Kirk’s recent blog on this subject, See it on the Henry’s Fork Foundation’s web site. We may be heading to another hot dry summer, with generally early ice-off, early hatches, and an extended period of poor water quality after July. Lately fishing from Ashton Dam down to Chester Dam is about the best in the area when the wind calms down.
