Henry's Fork

Green drakes are appearing on the river below Ashton Dam. Best time to fish is late AM to afternoon hours. The densest drake activity is during calm, overcast, warm days.  For nymphs and emergers, fish patterns near banks and slower waters. The peak of adults on the surface is yet to come, but fish are aware of this activity.  Evening caddis activity is ongoing and some giant and golden stonefly adults remain here and, on the river, upstream to the Pinehaven area as well as peaking in Box Canyon. Watch for grey drakes coming from the river above Chester Dam. The slide below Lower Mesa Falls remains closed to the use of descending hard sided boats but is open for rafts and flotation devices.  Flow at Box Canyon is about 400 cfs, below Ashton Dam is about 1400 cfs and about 1290 cfs at St. Anthony.
