Henry's Fork
With about 450 cfs flowing through Box Canyon, hard sided boat bottoms will suffer. About 1300 cfs is flowing below Ashton Dam, so no problem there. Giant stone flies are diminishing with goldens coming on throughout the upper river. Some of the best dry fly fishing is during evening caddis activity.
Watch for flow to vary in the upper river as we move into irrigation season. It’s going to be a low water summer with low water quality, so your best dry fly fishing will be during this month. PMDs are beginning to be significant.
The lower river is fishing well. A few green drakes are on the water. Evening caddis activity provides good end-of-the–day dry fly action. Some goldens are still around. Not thick as in the past, but Chester backwater grey drakes are showing up.
