Henry's Fork
The Henry’s Fork currently offers some of the best fishing in the region, and this applies to the river from below Big Springs to St. Anthony. PMDs are on the water everywhere, and their activity peaks from mid-morning to midafternoon. Green drakes are present with their peek activity coming when water temperatures reach the low 50s in Deg. F. A few flavs are showing. Calm, overcast days are best for these emergences. Major evening caddis activity is also ongoing throughout the river. For the fly fisher multiple emergences means packing life cycle patterns for each in that fly box and preparing to see which emergence trout are feeding on at any given time. A few golden stones are around on the Warm River to Ashton stretch to compliment the mayfly activity. Be ready to share this great time to fish the river with other flyfishers from Box Canyon downstream to Chester Dam. Flow at Box Canyon is about 1230 cfs, below Ashton Dam is about 1250 cfs and about 1150 cfs at St. Anthony.
