Henry's Fork
The Henry’s Fork retains some of the best fishing in the region. PMDs are on the water everywhere, with activity peaks from mid-morning to midafternoon. As the season moves on, smaller PMDs will become more numerous. Green drakes have faded much from the scene, with flavs replacing them on much of the river. Major evening caddis activity continues up and down the river. The recent cool weather is a major factor in having great top water fishing. Some terrestrial insects are beginning to appear and with the normal warming trend will become more important for trout. Be ready to share this great time to fish the river with other fly fishers from Box Canyon downstream to Chester Dam. Flow at Box Canyon is about 1300 cfs, below Ashton Dam is about 1800 cfs and about 1150 cfs at St. Anthony.
