Henry's Fork

Flow through Box Canyon is about 315 cfs making it a  bit tough on hard sided boat bottoms. Hopper/bead head nymph dropper rigs continue to work well as do terrestrial insect patterns presented close to banks.  Last Chance-Harriman reach offers TOUGH fishing. Water has cooled, but is a bit discolored down to Osborn Spring ( about a mile above Wood Road 16).  Weeds are abundant but will begin diminishing as daylight decreases.  Coffeepot area is providing good fishing. Terrestrial insect patterns give best fishing success throughout the upper river. Some trico spinner falls happen early in the day.  Between Warm River and Ashton Reservoir low, warm water prevails. Terrestrial insect patterns presented in pocket water and in toward banks can be effective.  River below Ashton Dam is flowing at around 10000 cfs and best fished in the evenings with terrestrial insect patterns presented close to vegetated banks and streamer patterns around overhead cover. Tiny BWOs  (size 20-22) are appearing during afternoons.  Crowds have diminished considerably, so the lower river is becoming a great fishing location.
