Henry's Lake

Because lake water is warming, trout are moving to cooler water near springs and deep weed beds in search of food and physical comfort.  Day time action has slowed, but creek mouths that bring in cool water offer good fishing very early in the day. Suspending speckled dun, damselfly nymph and scud patterns under an indicator at these locations can be effective. Arrive very early to ensure a decent position in front of these. Use sinking lines and slow retrieves while presenting woolly bugger patterns in deep water.  Boat fishing remains dangerous when winds pick up, therefore it is wise to watch the weather, use life jackets, and be ready to make for shore on a moment’s notice.
