Henry's Lake

Cool weather has kept water temperatures ideal (around 50 Deg. F.) for trout. Therefore, fishing success remains good in shallow waters. Use floating or sink tip lines and slow retrieves while presenting woolly bugger patterns.  Other fly patterns that produce along shorelines are those for scud and for midge life cycle patterns on floating lines and suspended under an indicator especially near aquatic vegetation.  All these patterns will be effective near creek mouths as the lake begins to warm.  Boat fishing remains dangerous when winds pick up, therefore it is wise to watch the weather, use life jackets, and be ready to make for shore on a moment’s notice. Undeveloped roads are mostly dried. The State Park is open for camping for which a fee is charged.  The Bill Frome County park is also open but has no potable water.
