Henry's Lake

Because lake water is warming, trout can be found closer to shorelines early in the day, as the day warms and light increases, they move to deeper water. They will tend to stay near creek mouths  (Duck, Hope, Howard, Targhee) which bring in cooler water. Use sinking or sink tip lines and slow retrieves while presenting woolly bugger patterns in deep water. Try scud and midge life cycle patterns on floating lines and suspended under an indicator especially near aquatic vegetation early in the day and at creek mouths.  Early arrival as possible at creek mouths ensures a decent position in front of these. Boat fishing remains dangerous when winds pick up, therefore it is wise to watch the weather, use life jackets, and be ready to make for shore on a moment’s notice. The State Park is open boat launching and for camping for which a fee is charged.  The Bill Frome County park is also open but has no potable water.
