South Fork

Warming air temperatures will make getting on the river more enjoyable than it has been since late last year.  Fishing traditional nymph patterns through and below riffles will improve with this warming weather.  Do not overlook fishing in slower, deeper waters. Cold waters here give residing fish little need  to rise through the water column to feed. There are plenty of food items along stream bottoms to keep them in good shape. In addition to the fly patterns we have suggested, add such as San Juan worm patterns drifted deep along stream bottoms.

Flow through the Dry Bed, which is full of whitefish, and hosts a good trout population, is about 100 cfs of clear water. Stay within the high water mark to be away from private property.
