South Fork

Flow out of Palisades Dam has been raised to around 13900 cfs, is the same at Heise, and 7340 cfs at Lorenzo.  Even limited wading is dangerous on the river because of high flows of irrigation water. Boating is the safest and most effective way to fish.  Fish woolly bugger, rubber leg and streamer patterns deep throughout the river. Currently water release from Palisades Reservoir exceeds inflow as runoff has peaked. It is springtime ramp-up phase to answer downstream irrigation demands.
