South Fork

Flow out of Palisades Dam has been raised to around 13400 cfs, is about the same at Heise, and 6900 cfs at Lorenzo.  Wading is dangerous on the river because of the high flowing irrigation water. Boating is the safest and most effective way to fish.  Fish woolly bugger, rubber leg and streamer patterns deep throughout the river, but best fishing conditions are yet to come. Currently water release from Palisades Reservoir (about 72% full) exceeds inflow as runoff has peaked. It is springtime flow ramp-up phase to answer downstream irrigation demands.
