South Fork

Flow out of Palisades Dam was raised to 12000 cfs yesterday after being flat at about 11000 cfs for several days. The same with downstream gages now are about 12000 cfs, at Heise, 5800 cfs at Lorenzo. Bureau of Land Management and the National Forest Service has opened the River Road above the Table Rock and River Roads junction to motorized traffic. Marginal top water fishing conditions continue thanks to ultra-cold water coming out of Palisades Dam with reservoir nearing three quarters full.  Slower waters are best locations to try. Rubber leg and streamer patterns continue to produce in deeper waters and around overhead cover. Be careful wading in this really cold water.
