South Fork

Flow out of Palisades Dam has been raised to around 12700 cfs, and about 12900 cfs Heise, and 6800 cfs at Lorenzo.  Wading is dangerous on the river because of high flowing irrigation water. Boating is the safest and most effective way to fish.  Fish woolly bugger, San Juan worm, rubber leg and streamer patterns deep throughout the river, but best fishing conditions are yet to come. Currently water release from Palisades Reservoir (about 72% full) exceeds inflow as runoff has peaked.
