South Fork

Flow out of Palisades Dam is about 12400 cfs at Irwin (about 12800 cfs at Heise, 6000 cfs at Lorenzo). Small changes in flow, such as a few hundred feet in cfs, have no impact on fishing conditions. Palisades Reservoir is about 90% full, but the flow out of it is about ideal for boat fishing. The stonefly hatch is skipping up the river, with the majority of the bugs being between Conant and Cottonwood right now.

PMDs, caddis and sallys are on the water as well as some green drakes.  Wade carefully on this powerful river. So the top water season has arrived!
