South Fork

Flow out of Palisades Dam is about 10100 cfs at Irwin (about 10600 cfs at Heise, 6700 cfs at Lorenzo). Palisades Reservoir is about 90% full. Top water fishing conditions continue to improve making it along with the Madison River some of the best fishing in the area. Stoneflies are most numerous in the canyon and along the upper river. Some green drakes are emerging and PMDs are fairly numerous.  PM caddis are present and especially dense during late afternoon hours.and streamers presenting during low light conditions (mostly evenings) interest large trout.
