South Fork

Same as any other stream right now; terrestrial insect patterns with and without a small dropper are best producers. Flow out of Palisades Dam has dropped a bit (10500 cfs  at Irwin, 11300 cfs at Heise, and about 6100 cfs at Lorenzo).  Look for further flow reductions because filling the reservoir for the next irrigation season comes first. There are some PMDs and pink ladies (epeorus) emerging from ripples.  But why would a trout go after these needing several rises, requiring much energy, when the food value of one grasshopper is worth dozens of these small bugs.
