Only ice fishing on such as Hebgen and Clark Canyon Reservoirs is practical.  Shelf ice and deep snow  make walk-in wading difficult on the Madison River near the Baker’s Hole access. Resident and non-resident fishing licenses expire on February 28th this year. You can renew these online by going to the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks web site.
