Yellowstone Park
As is usual, the Firehole River continues to offer the best top water fishing in the Park. White miller caddis, BWOs and PMDs provide the action which is best on cool, a bit unsettled days. Swing those olive or tan soft hackle patterns (sizes 14-16.) through runs and holes. Best time for wet fly action on Shoshone and Lewis Lakes are ice-free, but snow clogs trails to them. Many shoreline campsites along Shoshone Lake have been reserved by incoming boating anglers.
