Yellowstone Park
Park authorities have lifted the restrictions on the Firehole River (From the north end of Fountain Flat Drive to Black Sand Basin) after completing their investigations of the May 4th bear attack. Fishing on the Firehole River has been very good with white miller, other caddis and BWO life cycle and soft hackled patterns providing action for fly fishers. Caddis activity is recovering on the Gibbon River below the falls after the extensive rainfall of the last few days. There is some streamer fishing in the meadow reaches above Gibbon Falls. The Gallatin River is running high and discolored with run off. Park fishing licenses are available through the park web site, and visitor and ranger station offices within.
