Yellowstone Park

Because the Madison River drainage is closed to fishing, fly fishers are heading to other streams to fish. Many are on the Yellowstone River just below the lake where dry fly fishing is good. Good numbers of fly fishers are trying the Lamar River, Slough and Soda Butte Creeks where roadside meadow areas offer easy access and good fishing for those using terrestrial insect patterns. The best experience of all are on the “open to fishing streams” with meadow reaches in Fall River Basin. You have to walk a ways to get to these, but add tranquility to the great fishing.  Beula Lake still offers the fastest still water fishing in the area, especially if you pack a flotation device and gear to fish the entire lake.
