Balanced Gut Bomb Bloodworm
Curtis - May, 2021
If you've seen or fished the original Gut Bomb Bloodworm, this is an updated version of it that uses the offset jig bead to balance the fly in a more horizontal orientation both on the retrieve as well as the fall. This style isn't as fine-tunable as the bead-and-pin style balanced fly but it does a pretty good job with much less work on your part.
As we explain in the other video below, while using this fly on the water, I usually fish it on point with a team or two or three flies. It's a great pattern to have for searching closer to the bottom of a lake, especially early in the season or when fish aren't actively feeding up higher closer to the surface.
