The Thin Mint Slider
Cheech - May, 2019
There really isn't much introduction needed for the overall design of this fly... The Articulated Trout Slider has become my number one confidence trout streamer, and it's usually the very first fly that I tie on. It has caught multiple species of fish in multiple countries, and is now distributed though Fulling Mill. Yes, go you your local shop and tell them they need to order the Articulated Trout Slider!! While the white and gold option is still probably my favorite (See it HERE), there are many cool and effective color options that you can play with. Since the Thin Mint is such a popular color combo in smaller buggers, I figured I'd give it a whirl on a bigger fly - and make it articulated... The original slider was tied on a size 1 hook in the front and a 2 in the back, so I sized this one down a bit with a size 2 in the front and a 4 in the back. Play with colors and sizes on this bug, but this brown/light olive combo will get the big boys playing!
