Cottarelli Hackle Pliers

Alittle more money than the usual hackle pliers. But they do grip much better than any of the other brands. Would buye again

I asked for and received these pliers as a gift from my son for Christmas. I made an assumption that with a price this high these would be the best pliers ever. Unfortunately I am very disappointed. I have yet to successfully wrap a hackle with this tool. They won’t hold the feather and even with minimal force the feather slips out. I’ve tried adding a rubber tip to one of the points with no success and I have increased the tension as much as the tool will allow. I’m not going to give up on these yet and I won’t say don’t buy them, but if you do don’t throw away your receipt.

Great grip. I bought two. One as a gift for a fly tyer friend.
