Great Hook! When you get the right size...

Overall I am very happy with the quality of the hook. Looks great, easy to use for your favorite Fly Fish Food jig pattern, and they fish great. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 instead of 5 out of 5 was there may a some quality control issues. As I started to tie up some flies I noticed that my size 14 looked very similar to my size 16's. When I took a closer look, it looked like the size 16 box had been filled with size 14 hooks. I bought another box of size 16 hooks that ended up being the correct size and now I have extra size 14's. Not a huge deal since they will get used but just not exactly what I was expecting.

One of my favorite nymph and Euro hooks

I really love these hooks. Great for Euro and nymph because they are 2X heavy meaning that is either a wrap or two of lead I don't have to add or maybe a bead size difference - and allows the Euro to be tied that much skinnier. If I want taper in the fly it is how and where I want it - not predicated on where the lead (or synthetic) is wrapped. 50 degree eye works for me and I have adapted to Fulling Mill size difference to say Firehole which is what I used to use. Very happy with these hooks. Typically use 12's to 20's.

Great Hook

I really like the Fulling Mill 5045 jig hook. Even though it’s barbless, when I hook fish they don’t come off if I do my part. It’s a great hook for tying nymphs on. I have used multiple products from Fulling Mill. Great quality for my tying needs.
