The Mayhem is a very versatile fly that can be fished as a midge or a mayfly depending on what is most active in the water. This fly has a very unique wing case that adds a small amount of buoyancy and movement in the water that other similar sized nymphs might not have. For whatever reason, the foam wing case really sets this fly apart from others even if it's fished deep on a nymph rig!
