I took the SOS out on my local tailwater, and it proved very successful. I dropped it from a Dorsey yarn indicator to keep it in one seam and in the strike zone longer (sometimes clicking the bottom)… browns and rainbows both devoured it. The jig-style SOS doesn’t get hung on the bottom hardly at all, and the dark body mimics many nymphs moving in the spring… the added sparkle coming off the body looks like legs with air bubbles… I’ve had two very successful days in a row with this fly; and many around me are asking what I’m using—because they weren’t as successful.
