I bought the dyed feathers and their quality was horrible! The structure of the feather is sparse and deformed. I assume it’s from the dying process. I have some natural coming soon that I had to order direct from Fulling Mill because FF was out of stock and I hope it’s better quality. I’ve hear so much good about FM and I was shocked with what I received. Maybe my expectations were set too high as i used trout hunter before.
The feather quality left a lot to be desired.
I have been buying cdc feathers for from fly shops for years, most of it was a genuine waste of money.
Very few usable feathers in a package, so I didn't tie many flies with cdc, although I wanted to. I happened upon your YouTube channel and was impressed with the pattern that you tied with cdc. I saw that you were using Fulling Mill and I was sold! I was a bit leery about ordering a gram of feathers sight unseen, but I figured if Cheech is using it then why not? I got two packages one olive, one dark olive and would have gotten dark dun, but it was out of stock.( I ordered it elsewhere because I was so impressed) . I have already tied a dozen palomino Caddis flies. I am in awe of the quality of this product. I am a fan of their hooks as well. Unfortunately, I ordered a gram of Hareline cdc when I ordered the Fulling Mill cdc from you folks, what a disappointment! I use a lot of Hareline products, but now I'm stuck with a gram of very poor quality cdc. Thanks for introducing me to Fulling Mill cdc. I'd try the Polish cdc, but that is out of stock.
Fairly consistent sizing a few puffs inside the package.
I purchased the Fulling Mills CDC after being disappointed in the Hairline more than once. Sorry I couldn't put that better and not bad mouth them, but there's no better way to say it.
