To help the rod’s casting efficiency we did what we could to make the TROUT X rods light to help casting efficiency and to help protect light tippet. These rods are produced in a factory that has access to the latest and best carbon fiber material. We used lightweight guides and have done everything we can to shave weight from the rod to improve performance.

The rods are all four piece and a coated with mist green gloss finish. The matching tread color helps the rod blend into the environment and all the snake guides are chrome plated for less friction. SIC stripper guides help improve double haul efficiency and the extended half wells grip with a burl wood real seat so they are beautiful, light, and low maintenance.

FFF Great Service!

I ordered this rod (Echo Trout X) and it was shipped the very next day. I wasn't even charged for shipping! The crew at Fly Fish Food are great.

Echo Rods Great Value

I needed an inexpensive rod for backpacking and a couple years ago picked up an Echo Lift. I was surprised at how nice this rod felt for something near $100.
When I found out Echo was owned by one of the Rajeffs, I figured they wouldn't put out junk. I decided to try the Echo Trout X rod and again enjoy the feel of casting and playing fish with it. I thought the rod had a blemish defect near the first ferrule connection up from the handle but Echo's warranty department assured me it is a ferrule tag and gives the rod a little more strength where it is found. Most rods have it and it is only visible on the Trout X because they use a translucent paint that gives the rod a beautiful finish as well as a little less weight. I purchased the 9 foot 5 weight and feel it is a very decent rod for the price.
