About Derek: Derek DeYoung was born on a bayou near the shores of Lake Michigan where his love of fishing was ignited. Over the years his art has veered from the classical fishing art, placing more importance on using a unique style and palette. Great Addition to Warm-water Wading Kit

I have been pleasantly surprised with these wading socks. I am in Tennessee and warm water creek wade for Smallmouth Bass often. I used to wear synthetic socks with my creek shoes (old tennis shoes) and would come off the creek with rocks, debris, silt and all that in my shoes. I've taken these socks out a few times and not only do they keep your ankles and shins protected from chance encounters with rocks, laydowns, etc. They also drain quite well, and the gravel guards have exceeded my expectations at keeping stuff out of my low-top shoes.
