Mayfly - Vise Original

I usually don’t do this%2C but they’ve asked for a review after a bad day so here it goes. I really really wanted this vise to be good. All the screws come loose after just tying a couple of jigs. The base needs to be bigger. It is a rotary vise but the bearings are not very good. The locking mechanism to hold the jig in place is just all wrong. It literally takes two hands to lock a jig in place. The lever pushes away from you to lock a jig down which makes no sense. I have to try to hold the vise in place while I hold the jig and try to push the lever. The handle to turn the vise is too short. And to pour salt on an open wound%2C they sent the wrong Allen wrenches to tighten the screws. The vise is made out of quality materials it seems like%2C but the craftsmanship is lacking. I realize this isn’t a %24300 vise%2C but just a little more thought would have made the vise much much better. I’m not knocking Fly Fish Food because I’ve read nothing but good stuff about them. I’m going to continue to buy more jig tying materials from them as I think they have good stuff. I’ll just spend a little more money next time on another vise.
