This hair comes from the mane to the rump of the cow elk which is longer and darker than flank hair. Averaqes about 2" in length with a texture that makes a great wing on larger, high floating Stonefly and Hopper patterns. Makes great bullet heads. Beautiful rich color. Only comes in a natural color.

Perfect for big wing bugs!

I tied salmon flies and golden stones using this hair for the wings. I tied up to size 4, but I could have easily tied size 2. With just a tiny bit of flair, this stuff is perfect for big wings that you want to lay flat on the water. If you want more flair, just prop it up with a little dubbing.
