Great Pack (read why)

This pack seems great right off the rip (and I dig the color - pine).
I frequently make changes to my packs and vests, and think this one will be around for a while. For context: I am coming from a FishPond Switchback Pro. This is much lighter than what I had previously carried and I appreciate that the material flexes easier than the Switchback Pro as well. One of the initial reasons I wanted to try this was due to the larger net slot. When bass or steelhead fishing, I carry a FP mid-length boat net (it's big). The net slot of my previous hip pack did not let this net slide in very far which in turn made every top heavy and was a hassle. This is not the case with the NorthFork - it accepts this very large net as well as my smaller stream nets as well. This net slot also allows me to wear the net a bit looser which makes it easier to spin around. My previous pack had to be wrenched down to the point of discomfort to keep the net held in place firmly (tight enough that it would come loose very frequently). It also has plenty of room for me. I tend to carry a lot of gear and I am aware that this pack has been marketed to the minimalist; don't let that lead you to believe that it is a small pack. I currently have everything in it that I would carry in a larger pack - the only differences being this is a much lighter platform and easier to navigate. The optional tippet holder and floatant attachments are great as well. I realize I have mentioned a couple times that the pack is light, I would encourage readers to not interpret that as cheap. The material appears great as well. Really happy that I picked this up and the price can't be beat. Short of throwing some flies and tippet in my pocket and heading out, this will be my new favorite way to carry gear comfortably and safely.
