I like these cause I'm lazy, but realistically, there are a lot of terrific dubbings that work just fine. And, let's face it, everyone who ties flies can [or at least should know how to] create a dubbing rope/loop. That said, I bought some of these cause man they are convenient -- I just feel guilty using them. ;)

I tied three Longhorn Beetles with materials I have while waiting for suggested materials ordered online. I used dark olive rabbit dreads and I think my results look very real. Were I a large hungry fish I would definitely chow down. A small hungry fish might flee instead.
