I was really hoping for a large chest pack that was water proof like the Fishpond Thunderhead series. However this isn’t a bad 2nd choice. Definitely some improvements on my older ZS2. The material is more water resistant than the ZS2 which was a sponge no matter what I treated it with. The overlook is sleeker, the material seems more water resistant, the interior organization is nice with less small spaces. The bag feels solid! Really miss the molle on the bottom of the backpack for a water bottle (that’s a huge bummer). I’ll definitely miss the slick back panel option that came with the ZS2 when I need to actually take a real backpack for all day shenanigans (hoping the ZS2 panel will work with this new one) No buyers regret just a couple things I would have kept from its earlier cousin. Oh and lastly, not a fan of the low profile net holder, way too hard to seat the net or maybe it's just me.
Honestly, the best pack I have owned yet, and I have owned several from different manufacturers. I tend to carry a lot, and the attached backpack lets me avoid having to figure out where I left my water bottle. The Swiftlink accessories are awesome and well-thought-out, with a locking system. I am not afraid to lose any gear attached to the Swiftlink accessories. It is spendy, however, I thought it was worth it after using it for 2 weeks now.
The Chest Pack is awesome, it is very similar to the previous Umpqua Overlook chest pack, though the features are better. My suggestion is that the back portion of the pack could be larger, that way it would carry a water bladder, a coat/rain coat etc. If there was an option to buy a bigger back portion that would be ideal... for me anyway.
