With a delicate touch and medium action, the TROUT LL family has been designed with the trout angler and dry flies in mind. Through blank taper optimization and specialized length offerings, the TROUT LL is perfected for wade fishing, closer casts, small flies, and light tippets. A relatively supple tip maximizes light tippet protection and gives way to a smooth easy-loading mid-section that increases feel and feedback throughout the casting stroke. When the hatch is on, the TROUT LL is an angler’s best friend.

Drawing inspiration from historic Sage rods of the past, the TROUT LL is a nod toward tradition with a classic appearance and a smooth casting taper, yet adds modern performance features in accuracy and loop control through the backbone of Konnetic HD blank material.

The TROUT LL series is available in a combination of classic dry fly line weights and lengths 7’9” though 9’0” while beautiful wood inserts and premium componentry add an elegant touch to these high performance rods.

This is the best fly rod I have ever used. It is light, smooth, and responsive. It casts effortlessly and accurately, and it feels like an extension of my arm. The Sage Trout LL Fly Rod is perfect for fishing small to medium-sized streams, where delicate presentation and finesse are essential. I have caught some beautiful trout with this rod, and I can't wait to use it again. It is worth every penny, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves fly fishing.

I have taken my “Ex Caliber” #3 889 rod throughout any places where you will encounter highly pressured fish and have ALWAYS COME OUT ON TOP with it!! This rod provides me with pinpoint accuracy and provided you have a reel with a GREAT PICKUP DRAG; I have NEVER lost a very large trout (25”-32”) with using 7X tippet and ever breaking off with its wonderful rod’s profile that will give me the exact knowledge of my light tippet strength. The beauty of this rod allows me to put the optimum pressure on the fish that I am able to bring them to the net with putting the correct amount of tension while fighting my fish while not breaking my tippet.

Did I mention that I have not lost a large fish while using a 7X tippet and providing that I have tied excellent knots along with only maintaining only two tippet sizes amongst my leader??
